Gettin' a move on!

With the success of our transitional housing programs, more clients than ever are able to pursue independent living. There's just one problem - where's the bed?

Ah, the thrill of getting your first apartment. After hunting around for weeks, if not months, you finally found the right place. You've passed all the checks, you've signed all the paperwork and now, keys in hand, you open your front door for the first time to see... Well, not much of anything.

Most of us have the "joy" of getting to unpack boxes at this point, but for many youth coming from shelters or streets there's simply nothing to unpack. Many, having never lived independently before, don't even have basic items such as towels, dishes, and sheets.

We are asking you for help to fix that.

If each of our friends and donors committed to a $25 donation, we would be able to provide each client moving into a new apartment with the items they need to succeed.

Currently, we are asking for the following new, unused items for each apartment.

  • Twin Sheet Set - Fitted, flat, and pillow case

  • Standard Pillow

  • Twin / Full Comforter or Quilt

  • Towel Set - Bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth

  • Shower Curtain Set - Curtain, hooks, and liner

  • Flatware Set - Forks, Knives, and Spoons

  • Dinner Set - Plates and Bowls

  • Cups and Mugs

  • Pots and Pans - All sized and styles

We are also in need of the following items on a recurring basis.

  • Toilet Paper

  • Laundry Detergent and Dryer Sheets

  • Dish Soap

Having these items on hand for clients entering housing allows us to create a welcoming, comfortable experience. Moving can be an intimidating process, especially when you have nothing to outfit your new home with. These simple, everyday items are what make a space livable, and can help clients feel more at home in a new, unfamiliar space.

If you're interested in donating to support our transitional living programs, click here. We also have an Amazon wish-list, which is updated weekly to reflect the needs of our clients. You can find that here. Bonus Tip: Select "Ship to Gift Registry Address" at checkout, and the item will be shipped right to our main office in your name!

As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of our local community. Donating time, money, or necessities like these can be a small investment with a BIG impact, and we're grateful to everyone who makes the choice to support us. Thank you!

[Don't forget! Items bought off our Amazon wish-list count as tax-deductible donations! Send us a message if you have any questions!]
